CALGARY, Alta. — 96 teams. The largest National Championships in ASHL history.
The 2018 ASHL National Championships are set for Calgary with the largest contingent in league history descending on Canlan Great Plains and Cardel Rec South. In fact, this tournament is so large that it requires two weekends to run the full slate of games.
Leading off on the May long-weekend, 20 men’s teams will vie for the B1, B2, and C1 Championships, while 19 women’s teams will compete in the B, C, D, and E Divisions.
The action only continues to build in advance of the second weekend, where 57 teams are set to play in the Men’s C2, D1, D2, E, and 30+ C + D Divisions.
Overall, the representation includes 11 ASHL locations, as well as teams from 7 ASHL Affiliate Leagues.
In addition to being the biggest tournament in ASHL history, this tournament is also far from normal.
On-site appearances with a custom-built Molson Hockey House, Hockey Canada, and additional sponsors including Tourism Calgary and Booster Juice means this tournament will be one that won’t soon be forgotten.
