ASHL Update: Saskatoon

SASKATOON, SASK. — On November 25th the Provincial Government of Saskatchewan announced new public health measures in the province that will take effect as of 12:01 a.m. on November 27th. Once these measures take effect, sports gameplay is restricted in the province of Saskatchewan, at which point the ASHL Fall ’20 season in Saskatoon will be paused, effective November 27th.

Prior to these restrictions taking effect, games set for Thursday November 26th will be played as scheduled.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long are these measures in effect for?
At present the Provincial Government of Saskatchewan has indicated that these measures will be in place through to December 17th, at which point they are set to be reviewed by the Chief Medical Health Officer.

What happens if we’re able to resume the season?
In the event that gameplay is permitted on or after December 17th, every effort will be made to re-start the ASHL Fall ’20 season thereafter. In the event of a resumption of the season, the following scenarios shall apply based on team fees paid:

▪ 75% or more of guaranteed games played: The team shall receive a credit based on the team fees paid to date, and the number of guaranteed games the team had completed at the time of cancellation.
▪ Less than 75% of guaranteed games played: The team shall receive their choice of a credit or a refund based on the team fees paid to date, and the number of guaranteed games the team had completed at the time of cancellation.

What if we’re unable to resume the season?
If the ASHL Fall ’20 season in Saskatoon cannot be resumed, the following cancellation scenario shall apply:

▪ 75% or more of guaranteed games played: The team shall receive a credit based on the team fees paid to date, and the number of guaranteed games the team had completed at the time of cancellation.
▪ Less than 75% of guaranteed games played: The team shall receive their choice of a credit or a refund based on the team fees paid to date, and the number of guaranteed games the team had completed at the time of cancellation.
