TORONTO, ONT. — The 2018 Molson Cup is in the books, and with it, nine ASHL teams will have their names etched on the trophy as Division Champions.
In a tournament that featured competitive parity from start-to-finish, it was no surprise to see a number of tight games on Championship Sunday as three of the games were one-goal games, punctuated by the C2 Division final which required overtime to determine a winner.
Scarborough led the way with three titles as their teams went 3-0 in the finals, albeit in tightly contested games as the goal differential was only four across those three games.
In 30+ action, Oshawa was the facility to beat as the Moosehead Whalers and The Mama G’s captured the 30+ C and 30+ D/E divisions respectively. Scarborough’s Markville Fitness edged out Oshawa’s STS Cyclones for the 40+ title in a tight 1-0 game, as well.
Oakville’s lone title came in the B Division as Team Iceland squeaked out a 3-2 win for the Cup, while Brossard saw their lone title come in C1 as Ent. Alain Labrecque had the easiest path to victory on the day, winning 7-3.
Both York and Etobicoke also walked away with winners, as the Puckheads (York, D2) and Westside Wankers (Etobicoke, E) rounded out the winners on the day.
