CALGARY, Alta. — Starting this September, the ASHL will have the province of Alberta back on the footprint of the league.

Playing out of the soon-to-be-opened Great Plains Recreation Facility, the state-of-the-art venue will be the backdrop for the league’s 16th location across Canada and the United States.

The newest addition to the ASHL will offer member teams a 30-game schedule with the addition of two guaranteed playoff games. With games taking place Tuesday-Thursday, the league will also offer a full range of divisions to ensure that divisional parity is a top priority.

Extended playoffs is the name of the game in our league, with teams having an opportunity to qualify for the 2017 ASHL Central Regional Championships in Saskatoon that will draw together the top rec hockey teams from Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Calgary!

The season is set to kick off September 6th and teams that act fast and register with a deposit prior to August 1st will receive$700.00 off their team fee for the season.

If you haven’t heard about the Great Plains facility, well, you’re going to want to familiarize yourself with it. The 80,000 square foot complex will include two NHL-size rinks, an on-site restaurant, sports store, and a whole lot more. In partnership with the City of Calgary, Canlan Ice Sports will be operating the facility so you can be sure to expect the level of expertise and professionalism that has come to define what the ASHL experience is all about!
