TORONTO, ONT. — Playing at least three times a week out of Canlan Ice Sports – Oakville, Michelle Stanford isn’t your ordinary ASHL hockey player.
Far from it. The 51-year-old mother didn’t pick up hockey until later in life but that didn’t prevent her from falling in love with the game, the camaraderie, and even the ability to play either as a skater or a goalie!
Dealing with chronic pain and a hectic schedule hasn’t stopped Michelle from playing in the ASHL, in fact it’s only harnessed her creed, “Get off technology, get off the couch, and get going!”
Michelle’s story has her nominated as the Ultimate Zoomer, which seeks to identify an individual across Canada who have reinvented aging their own way. A vote for Michelle also means you’re entered to win a two-night hotel stay at a select Fairmont Hotel around the world, as well as a $200.00 Visa Gift Card!*
